At various times an Actor, producer, traveller and once Air Traffic Controller, Lauren returned to the stage in 2005 creating the role of Horse in VTP's, critically acclaimed premiere of John Ahlin's award-winning play, "Gray Area". Lauren was nominated for best supporting actor by the Los Angeles TicketHolder Awards. He joined VTP after this production, won over by the company's dedication to new plays and new voices.


Lauren then originated the role of Cole in VTP's 2006 production of Kato McNickle's play, "A Yankee Trader". He just finished directing "Confessions of a Catholic Child" winner of the 2006 Pen is a Mighty Sword International new play contest. The show closed on September 23 and Lauren was already directing another new play, "Gail Can See for Three Days" set to open at Theatre Tribe Studio Theatre on October 13, 2007.


Lauren studied acting with some gifted and dedicated artists at the St. Nicholas and Steppenwolf theaters in Chicago and later joined the Griffin Theatre where he worked with VTP members Kimberly Van Luin and Heidi Mages.


Productions at the Griffin include "Woodstock Nation", "The Whipping Boy", "L'Affaire de la Queen's Necklace" and the Jeff Award winning "Riding the Dolphin", with which Lauren later travelled to LA's Zephyr Theatre.


In addition to the Griffin, Lauren is proud to have worked with some of Chicago's other fine "off-loop" theaters including TimeLine in "A Cry of Players" and Shattered Globe in their Jeff Award winning "Warhawks and Lindberghs".


As a producer, he counts the world premiere of Mike Petty's "Locked-Up Down Shorty's", for Steeltown Productions, among his most cherished theatical memories.
