2010/2011 The Pen is a Mighty Sword
International Playwriting Competition

Beginning April 1, 2010 we will once again be accepting bold, passionate, innovative and compelling new work written specifically for the stage.  We impose no restrictions as to theme, style or subject matter. 

     • Winner receives a $2,000.00 cash award plus a reading and possible production.

     • First runner-up receives cash award of $1,000.00, in addition to a reading. 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE ACCEPTING ENTRIES UNTIL OCTOBER 31, 2010

All entries must be unpublished and un-produced full-length plays written in English.  (Labs, workshops and readings exempted).  No musicals, one-acts or children’s plays.

    * For mailed entries submit one (1) legibly typed and firmly bound manuscript.
    * For emailed entries submit one manuscript file in Word, Final Draft or PDF format. NOTE: email entries require a processing fee of $25.00.
    * All entries must include the author’s name, address, telephone number and email address.

   * SCRIPTS WILL NOT BE RETURNED
   * Entries must be postmarked by October 31, 2010
   * One(1) Play Submission per playwright
   * WINNER NOTIFICATION ON FEBRUARY 28, 2011

PLEASE NOTE:
There is no charge or entry fee for mailed scripts.
However, there is a $25 printing and processing fee for emailed scripts.
We prefer hard copies but we understand that some playwrights prefer to email their submissions.
