CONFESSIONS OF A CATHOLIC CHILD
Winner of the 2006 "Pen is a Mighty Sword" International New Play Competition opened in Los Angeles August 18, 2007 and ran thru September 23, 2007 at Deaf West Theatre in North Hollywood.

Confessions of a Catholic Child, is a funny, bitter-sweet romp through the delusional mind of 70-something, Regina, a “gritty” old Catholic woman facing her last night on earth. As she examines her past, she is accompanied by her smart-mouthed spirited “self”, her parents, children, lover, husband, and the Pope.

'06 Fall Reading Series

A YANKEE TRADER
Opened in Los Angeles August 5 and ran through September 10, 2006 at El Portal Forum Theatre, A Yankee Trader by Kato McNickle.

This beautifully written play finds Dillon Taber down on his luck with the law at his doorstep. The old world is being re-invented all around the Tabers, who have been traders as long as anyone remembers but even a stubborn man must change with the times. In a moment of desperation, Dillon trades his wife fand family for a car and goes on the run to keep his freedom. Amidst the ever-increasing fury of the Great Hurricane of 1938, Dillon’s bargain brings personal disaster and transformation as the storm wreaks havoc all around him.

Previews are August 3rd & 4th at 8:00pm. The show opens on August 5 and runs through September 10. Shows are Thursday, Friday & Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 3:00pm.

GRAY AREA
Opened in Los Angeles April 9, 2005 at 2100 Square Feet, Gray Area by John Ahlin.

This wonderfully funny, provocative, modern-day clash between rivals who have never met one another outside the realm of comfortable, predictable, stereotyped thinking is directed by Ian Vogt and features Michael Monk at Keith, Charles Carol as Farragut, Loren as Horse and Shawn Ross as Randall.

Aesop Goes Modern
Aesop Goes Modern is the first in a new audio theatre series entitled Wisdom For Children. This 70-minute CD features 28 individual fables insired by the master storyteller, Aesop and adapted into a rich theatrical format that children love!

 

Belfast Blues
Winner of four awards for performance, writing and digital imagery, Belfast Blues is a new play developed by Geraldine Hughes and Kim Terrell. The play is told from Geraldine's perspective as a young girl coming of age in the war-torn Belfast of the 1980s. Premiered in Los Angeles in January of 2003, "Belfast Blues" is currently on tour. Brother Brian Sister Kathleen
This play is a searing, sometimes tender, often funny look at confronting the painful, startling reality that often we want more for someone we love than they do. Brother Brian Sister Kathleen premiered in Los Angeles in 2001, with VTP member, Mark Fuller as Brian and guest actress, Kathy Piotter Jenkins as Kathleen. The production was directed by Sharon Andrews and designed by Jonathan Christman, both members of VTP.
