Playwright, Kim Terrell explores what happens to a brother and sister who grow up together laughing and crying amidst their Irish Father's steady stream of humor . . . then the
laughing dies and they are left with the alcoholism
and denial that has shaped their lives.
Brother Brian, Sister Kathleen takes place one
Thanksgiving night when Kathleen, after burying her father, comes to rescue her lovable, eccentric,
shattered brother one more time.
She finds him bumbling about his small caretaker's house situated in the midst of an ancient New England graveyard, playing out his obsession with 17th century witches and
drinking in his father's footsteps.
This play is a searing, sometimes tender, often funny look at confronting the painful, startling reality that often
we want more for someone we love than they do.
First produced in Los Angeles at The Gascon Theatre, this play is available for production.
