Martin Goodman |
The Los Angeles Times wrote of him: ‘Such narrow, narrow confines we live in. Every so often, one of us primates escapes these dimensions, as Martin Goodman did. All we can do is rattle the bars and look after him as he runs into the hills. We wait for his letters home.’ His latest book is the biography of Dr J. S. Haldane, the scientist who introduced canaries into mines. Martin spent some years as a professional actor, as well as running a video publishing house. Feeding the Roses is his first play. He lives mostly in London, and has homes in Santa Fe and the French Pyrenees.

Last year we premiered “A Yankee Trader” by Kato McNickle at El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, California. The show ran for six weeks receiving good reviews and recommendations from reviewers.
After the main show closed VTP then moved next door to Theatre Tribe where we did readings and staged readings of the 2005 Honorable Mentions. |
L-R Mark Arnold, Heidi Mages, Sean Mahon
In 2007 we will continue with the staged reading series as well as producing several new plays on off-nights (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday). The first show we want to produce is “Gail Can See for Three Days” by Joshua Faigen a playwright from Massachusetts. The show is directed by Whit Andrews and features Kimberly Van Luin and Lauren McCormack.
We also want to stage “Collaterally Damaged” by Laura Zam. Laura is a playwright, performer and director. In New York her solo performances and plays have been presented at The Public Theater, Dixon Place, New Dramatists, and Ensemble Studio Theatre. In addition to her writing, Laura engages in community building and trauma recovery through the use of storytelling and drama.
New years are wonderful and we look forward to a year of reading and staging more new work.
